EthanlForums has a Zero tolerance policy when it comes to fake registrations or spam postings. In order to provide a high quality online experience to all of us, and to put an end to spam (bots that create fake user accounts or post junk messages), much of the underlying website code has been enhanced and modified. A lot of these measures taken to curtail spam are invisible to the user. However, you will experience a few of these measures when signing up for a new accout. These will be:

1. A visual confirmation challange: You will see letters/numbers and be asked to type what you see.
2. One or Two simple questions (for ex. asking if you are a human): This adds complexity that the bots are not expecting.
3. You will not see a field to enter your 'website address': To add a website address you have to edit your profile after your account has been activated. This will deter the bots from creating fake accounts to advertise their websites/products.
4. An email: will be sent to you with instructions to follow in order to activate your account: Adds complexity to the registration process.
